Maple Syrup Cake
2 1/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup soft shortening
1 cup syrup
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
Cream together shortening and sugar, add eggs. Sift together dry
ingredients, add alternately with syrup and milk. Pour into a greased and
floured 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven until toothpick
inserted in center comes out clean.
--MAPLE FROSTING:--
1/3 cup soft shortening
3 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
Combine ingredients until smooth, frost cooled cake.
