Italian Sausage Calzone and Calzone Dough


Yield: 4 Servings

CALZONE DOUGH
2 c Bisquick original baking mix
1/3 c Hot water --120-130~
1 tb Vegetable oil
SAUSAGE CALZONE
1/2 lb Bulk Italian sausage
1 sm Onion;chopped
1 sm Jar sliced mushrooms;drained
1/3 c Pizza sauce
4 oz Shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 c Grated Parmesan cheese
1 Egg white

QUICK CALZONE DOUGH: Mix baking mix, water and oil until dough forms.
Place dough on surface dusted with Bisquick; roll in Bisquick to coat.
Knead dough 15-20 times or until smooth and elastic. Roll into 12"
circle
on cloth-covered surface dusted with baking mix. Place on ungreased
cookie
sheet. ITALIAN SAUSAGE CALZONE: Heat oven to 450~F. Cook sausage in
10"
skillet, stirring occasionally, until brown; drain. Stir in onion,
mushrooms and pizza suace; keep warm. Prepare Dough. Layer mozzarella
cheese, sausage mixture and Parmesan cheese on half of circle to
within 1"
of edge. Brush edge of dough lightly with water. Fold dough over
filling;
press edge with fork to seal. Brush with egg white. Bake about

15 min. or until golden brown. Cool 5 min. Cut into wedges. Per
