Chocolate Cherry Cake
I combined two of my favorite cake recipes and came up with a
deliciously moist and flavorful cake. It combines some of my favorite flavors such as:
chocolate, pecan, cream cheese and cherries. Since you just sprinkle chocolate chips and
pecans over the top, you don't have to frost it. It's to die for right out of the oven
with ice cream. Hope you like it. Lorley/Phoenix
Chocolate Cherry Cake
1 pkg chocolate cake mix (any kind)
21 oz cherry pie filling
3 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbl cornstarch
2 tbl butter, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract
8 oz softened cream cheese
1 egg
Grease and flour a 13" X 9" pan. Mix the cake mix, cherry pie filling and 3 eggs
by hand till well blended. Set aside. Beat next set of ingredients on high speed till
smooth. Pour half of the chocolate cake batter in the pan, pour the cream cheese
mixture over, then top with remaining cake mixture. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and
pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for just over 45 minutes.
