soda
1/3 C.
shortening

granulated sugar

sour
milk or buttermilk

lemon
juice

grated lemon rind
1/2 C.
chopped
nuts
Lemon Glaze:
1 C.
confectioners sugar
1 Tbsp.
lemon juice
1 Tbsp.
water
1/4 Tsp.
vanilla
Sift together flour, salt and soda; cream shortening and sugar until light
and fluffy. Add egg and beat well. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture
alternately with sour milk or buttermilk and lemon juice. Mix well. Add
lemon rind and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet and bake
at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. When cool, spread with lemon glaze.
Lemon Glaze:
Mix confectioners sugar, lemon juice, water and vanilla together until
smooth. Spread on cookies.
