Rhubarb Crumble

Rhubarb crumble is nice - cut up the stalks and stew in enough water to cover them for 20 minutes or so, with plenty of sugar. Then alternate layers of rhubarb with layers of apple and sugar in a dish, cover with crumble mixture (ratio one part sugar to two parts butter to three parts flour, crumbled between fingertips) and bake for half an hour or so. Good with custard! You can also drink the juice left over after stewing - but be warned - rhubarb is a laxative!
