Portugese Sponge Cake

Here is a versatile recipe for Portuguese sponge cake, i

Portuguese sponge Cake:
5 large room temp eggs
3 oz granulated sugar
2 1/2 oz of sifted flour
2 tbs. milk
5 tbs melted butter
 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Separate the eggs
Mix yolks and sugar with a beater until creamy
Beat whites until stiff but not dry and gently fold into
yolk mixture.Sift in the flour, blend in the milk and
melted butter
Line cake pan or muffin tins with wax paper. fill 3/4 full
with batter.Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until done.Remove from
oven and invert to cool
