Fresh Peach Ice Cream



(10 servings)

5 Peaches (about 1 1/4 lb) 
1 1/2 cup Sugar 
1 1/2 cup Milk 
1 1/2 cup Heavy cream 
1 ts Vanilla 

In a kettle of boiling water blanch the peaches for 1 minute and transfer them
to a bowl of ice and water to stop the cooking. Peel and pit the peaches and
in a food processor or blender puree them. In a large bowl stir together the
sugar, the milk, and the cream, stirring until the sugar is dissolved., stir
in the puree and the vanilla, and freeze mixture in an ice cream freezer
according to manufacturer instructions. Makes about 1 1/2 quarts. 

>From what I understand, the "cream base" recipes are ones that you add your
own flavorings/fruit/candy to. There are two recipes, both from Morten's
Collection of Ben & Jerry's Recipes. These sound like the most fun!

  Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method
--------  ------------  --------------------------------
  1                 cup   milk
  30                     marshmallows
     3/4            cup  sugar
  3                cups   sliced bananas -- about 4
  1           teaspoon  fresh lemon juice
  3 1/2           cups  heavy cream

In an electric blender, combine milk, marshmallows, sugar, sliced bananas and
lemon juice. Blend on high speed.
Whip heavy cream and then stir cream into blended banana mixture.
Still-freeze.
