Cocoa Low Carb Desssert - Low Carb Dessert Recipes
Last night I whipped up a low-carb dessert using what I had on hand, plus
the Splenda I found in a grocery store up in PA where I was visiting family.
It's tasty, low-carb, and very satisfying. Plus the ingredients are all easy
to find.
6oz cream cheese, microwaved for 35 sec @ 6 g total
1/2 - 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa to taste @ 1 - 2 g total
2 - 4 tbsp Splenda to taste @ less than 2 - 4 g total
1 capful Vanilla Extract @ 1 g carb (probably less)
Mix it all up, then spoon it into a Ziploc bag with a corner cut off, then
squeeze dollops onto a plate. Put the plate in the freezer; it'll take about
15 - 20 min to set. I made about 30 little dollops, and used 2 tbsp of
Splenda, so a serving size of 3 equals about 1 g of carbs.
My fiancee complained he could taste too much cocoa (unsweetened cocoa is
nasty) and not enough Splenda, so next time I make it I will use 3 tbsp or
maybe a little more. Me, I think they taste fine - I haven't had any REAL
sugar for days, after all!
Not bad late night "inspired" cookery! (Needless to say, sometimes my
creations don't turn out so well.)
Next time I am going to try making vanilla.
