Garlic-Gruyere Mashed Potatoes

6 medium russet potatoes
3/5 cup hot whole milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chives; chopped
1/4 cup butter; softened
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 clove garlic; minced
1/4 cup gruyere cheese; grated
2 medium scallions; chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
Peel the potatoes and cut up. Cook in boiling water til tender. Drain.
Mash the potatoes and stir in the milk, butter, sour cream and the
rest of the ingredients. Serve at once.
