Much of Mexico's food is dictated by an extensive coast. Unfortunately for those of us who are landlocked, good seafood can be difficult to find--and prohibitively expensive. The Internet can make your seafood search a little easier. You have access to companies around the world instead of just those in your hometown. in just a few clicks you can have fresh fish on its way to your doorstep. The majority of the online seafood industry is geared towards the Eastern US coast. There are however, a few companies that cater to the Ocean Pacific and Gulf retail crowd.

  • Afishionado-A wide variety of mariculture seafood. Pro: Located in MidAmerica, good for landlubbers. Con: Geared towards high volume sales.
  • Big Tom's Seafood Market -Bare essentials of information regarding orders of fish, shrimp and crab. Pro: Will mix and match to create a custom order which fulfills minimum requirements. Con: No Internet order form. no longer available
  • Captain Cliff's Seafood Market-Order Gulf seafood here from a Florida company. Pro: great gift pack ideas for gifts or easy party planning. Good mix of fish and shellfish. Cons: No Internet ordering. You need to email or call. No photos or time chart on delivery.
  • Seafood Outlet -A simple site with shellfish delivered to your home. Pros: Clearly marked daily pricing and shipping charges. Con: Annoying background music.
  • SeaSpecialties Inc. This site includes recipes so you know what to do with your fish once they arrive. Pros: Salmon, whitefish and sturgeon. Con: No internet ordering and a relatively small selection.
