Sesame Wasabi Spirals
Sesame Wasabi Spirals
4 10-inch flour tortillas
1/3 cup light mayonnaise; or
Herbed Yogurt Cheese
4 teaspoons wasabi powder
4 strips peeled seeded cucumber; 8- x 1/2-inch
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
1/4 cup coriander (cilantro) leaves; or
4 leaves leaf lettuce
A hit of wasabi, the hot flavor in sushi, makes this a favorite roll-up
bite. Spread each tortilla with mayonnaise, leaving 1-inch border around edge.
Mix wasabi powder with 1 tablespoon water; spread in thin line across
tortilla, about one-quarter of the way down. Beside wasabi, arrange row of
cucumber. Sprinkle mayonnaise with sesame seeds and top with coriander.
Starting at wasabi side, roll up tightly and press to seal edge.
Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or for up
to 6 hours.
Cut each on the diagonal into 12 slices; discard or eat ends.
Add thinly sliced smoked ham or turkey as a variation.
