Corn Meal Mush

This is from my grandmother's "Woman's Home Companion Cook Book" circa 1955.

3/4 cups corn meal
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups boiling water

Sprinkle corn meal gradually into boiling salted water, stirring constantly until mixture boils; reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes, stirring once or twice.

Place over boiling water and cook tightly covered for about 45 minutes or until all of the water has been absorbed.  Makes 4 - 6 servings.

Hope this helps.  Merry Christmas!

Lisa
