Sizzling Savoury Rice
Wilkinson's Woolworths Recipes 1996 Sheet 16
1 Tbsp oil
1 onion,chopped
420g can chopped tomatoes
1 tsp chicken stock powder
salt and pepper
1/4 tsp sugar
310g can whole kernel corn
4 cups cooked rice
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup grated cheese
Heat oil in a saucepan and gently cook the onion. Add the tomatoes, stock
powder, salt, pepper and sugar. Simmer 5 - 7 minutes. Drain the corn and mix
with the rice and peas. Spread this in an oven-proof dish. Add the hot tomato
mix over the rice and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 180 C for 30 minutes.
