Hot Hot Chili

here it is
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 pound lean round steak, cut into bite size pieces
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup red bell peppers
2 cloves garlic minced
1 16 oz. can of red kidney beans with liquid
2 cups chopped tomatoes
1 16oz can tomato sauce
1 cup beef broth
1 11oz pakage or can of blackeyed peas
4-5 habenero Hot Chilis
2 tbsp. fresh cilantro
1 tbsp. fresh basil
1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
1 cup of corn
salt and pepper to taste
warm tortillas and shredded cheddar cheese to garnish
 
in a large dutch oven or stockpot, heat half of the oil. brown the meat in hot oil on all sides and remove from pan. drain of fat and add the remaining oil to the pan. saute onion, pepper, garlic for 3 min. add cooked beef. beans, liquid from beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, blackeyed peas, Hot Chilis, cilantro, basil, brown sugar,
worcestershire sauce, and bay leaf. bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. partially cover and cook for 35- 45 min. stir in the corn and cook for another 5 min. and add the salt 7 pepper to taste. remove bay leaf. serve in bowls topped with cheddar cheese. pass the warm tortillas makes 8 cups
